Project Overview:
Chile has set an ambitious goal to transition 70% of its total energy consumption to renewable sources. This initiative is backed by leading enterprises such as ENEL and COPEC, along with strong political commitment and innovative green technologies. Grasen is proud to contribute to this vision by providing cutting-edge charging solutions that support the country’s energy transition.
Since 2019, Grasen has been at the forefront of this energy transition, working closely with top energy companies to install over 100 sets of 150 kW DC charging stations across Chile. This initiative showcases Grasen’s dedication to delivering effective charging solutions tailored to the local market’s needs, enhancing the overall electric vehicle infrastructure in the country.
Innovative Solutions
One of the charging site installations is located in El Teniente, one of the largest copper mines in Chile, an area known for heavy snowfall and extreme weather conditions. To address the challenges posed by high-altitude and low-temperature conditions in the southern regions, Grasen has developed a split charging station system. Additionally, dehumidifiers and heaters have been integrated to ensure optimal performance of the chargers, enabling them to operate effectively even in harsh weather. The strategic positioning of these charging stations guarantees reliable access to electric vehicle charging for the mining sector.
